The graduate program
At Aquaterra Energy we look for highly motivated and committed engineering graduates with the drive and ambition to succeed. We are looking for graduates who are able to use their initiative, have excellent communication skills and who enjoy working as part of a team, yet have the confidence to work independently and make their own decisions.
On joining the company, our Graduate Engineers can expect a varied work-load and will spend their first year gaining experience working across every department within the company – from hands on at the workshop, to design and analysis, to putting together quotes and proposals in the Technical Sales department, to project management and travelling offshore to run equipment with the Delivery team. We will aim to give you experience in all aspects of Aquaterra Energy’s business so you can quickly become a versatile member of our team.
You will gain immediate experience working on a range of real projects, so you can expect to hit the ground running from day one. It is our belief that each project is a learning opportunity offering you a chance to share skills and knowledge learnt during your first degree in order to gain invaluable ‘hands on’ experience. You certainly won’t be spoon-fed or wrapped in cotton wool!
Based on your preferences, at the end of the first year with the company you will be asked to select the field in which you would like to further develop your career.
Our Graduate Programme will be tailored to meet your specific needs depending on the subject matter studied during your first degree and then towards the specific requirements of your chosen role.
Aquaterra Energy’s Graduate Training Programme receives IMechE re-accreditation.
Aquaterra Energy’s Graduate Training programme was accredited by the IMechE in 2008 and has be re-accredited in 2011. This is a superb move for the company which has rapidly recognised the lack of younger engineers and technicians working within the offshore industry and the skills shortage that exists within it.
Aquaterra wants to develop and encourage young engineering talent through offering an undergraduate Summer Placement Scheme and a Graduate Training Programme. The IMechE Professional Development Scheme will allow those young engineers to train to become chartered during their time with Aquaterra.
At a time when finding an employer who places an emphasis on Continuing Professional Development is of increasing importance to graduates, achieving IMechE accreditation for our Scheme can only stand Aquaterra in good stead.
