This course is aimed at those who wish to pursue a career in engineering. This qualification forms the foundation stage of a craft apprenticeship and covers key disciplines within the Engineering sector of Mechanical Manufacture, Mechanical Fitting, Welding and Electrical Installation.

A very practical and hands-on course where you will cover various Welding processes and techniques, Lathework, Mechanical fitting and basic Electrical installation. In addition to all the practical work, you will also learn the supporting theory and Health & Safety, along with this the important core skills areas of Literacy, Numeracy, IT and Teamworking.

Entry requirements

Standard Grade Maths, credit or general, Science or equivalent preferred. Consideration will also be given on an individual basis to those with relevant experience.
